Mac Jones future with the Patriots looks really bad after recent comments from Bill Belichick.
Mac Jones‘ play also came in for a fair amount of criticism over the course of his second season and Belichick was asked about moving forward with him as the starter during a press conference.
“Mac has the ability to play quarterback in this league. We all have to work together to find the best way as a football team, obviously quarterback is a big position, to be more productive,” Belichick said.
On Sunday, the Patriots season came to an end after they lost to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
Jones regressed in virtually every statistical category this season, and it can be attributed to the struggles of the team’s overall offense. Jones threw for over 3,800 yards last season.

Missing three starts because of a high ankle sprain, he finished the season with 288 completions on 442 attempts for 2,997 yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
So, what do the Patriots have to do to make that next step in their progression in his third year as starting quarterback? With Belichick’s comments, it doesn’t appear it will happen in Foxborough.
