It has been a few weeks now since Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots mutually decided to part ways after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl Championships. Somewhat surprisingly, one of the best head coaches in NFL history has yet to be hired despite the fact he is still interested in coaching.
Belichick had two interviews with Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons, but the Falcons decided to go in a different direction when they recently hired their former interim head coach Raheem Morris to lead their squad.
Another team that Belichick will not be coaching any time soon is the New York Giants, as a recent report suggests that he has been spreading the word to other coaches that the Giants organization is not a great landing spot at this time.
Bill feeling this way about the Giants comes as a bit of a surprise as he spent 12 seasons with the franchise from 1979-1990 as a special teams and linebackers coach as well as defensive coordinator while winning two Super Bowls. Despite the success during his tenure, Belichick reportedly now feels that the Giants are not a well run organization like they have been in the past.
With several head coaching positions being filled over the last two weeks, there are currently only two vacant positions in Seattle and Washington. It is looking as if arguably the greatest coach in NFL history may have to wait until next season to find his next head coaching gig.
