Everyone who’s anyone in the NFL was at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last week, but one man was noticeably absent.
Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was around 600 miles away. Instead of watching NFL prospects vie for higher draft selection, the six-time Super Bowl winner was watching a cheerleading competition.
According to TMZ Sports, Belichick opted to forego the combine on Saturday in favor of the 2024 Coastal at The Capitol cheerleading event in National Harbor, MD.
Witnesses told the publication he took a back-row seat inside the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center to watch at least one routine before making his exit. While he did not take pictures with fans, he was polite and cordial to everyone while he was there.
TMZ reached out to a rep to find out why he was at a cheerleading competition but hadn’t received comment at the time of writing.

Belichick would typically be preoccupied with scouting at the Lucas Oil Stadium around this time in March. However, he wasn’t able to land a job after leaving the Pats, so he didn’t have to be at the combine this time around.
