Bill Belichick wasn’t happy after Thursday night’s game at U.S. Bank Stadium and he had every right to feel that way.
During a disappointing 33-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings — Hunter Henry and Patriots quarterback Mac Jones connected on a six-yard touchdown to break a 23-23 tie. Or so they thought. The play was initially ruled a touchdown, but the officials went to the booth to review.
The refs would come back and state that Henry failed to maintain control of the ball as he hit the ground. The Patriots would have to settle for a field goal.
Henry was open with reporters after the game, saying he believed he caught the ball.
“Do you have any explanation on the Hunter Henry catch that was overturned?” a reporter asked Belichick after the game.
Belichick, knowing any criticism of the refs would get him fined, delivered a fiery response back to the reporter.

“Why don’t you all go to the officials with your pool reporter and ask them about the play? Let them explain it for you. Isn’t that what you do?” he asked.
