With so much drama and losing in New England, it seemed like Bill Belichick was on thin ice and his coaching career in New England would be finished soon.
As it turns out, it appears he will be in town for quite some time.
Belichick reportedly signed a massive contract extension over the offseason that no one knew about until now.
This news comes on the heels of a report stating Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly had conversations about the post-Bill Belichick direction of the franchise even before the 2023 campaign. NFL insider Albert Breer on Wednesday reported Kraft has had discussions about moving on from Belichick after the 2023 season.
“These discussions have taken place,” Breer told Colin Cowherd on “The Herd.”
It appears his report was all wrong.

The resume of the 71-year-old Belichick is impossible to overlook. He helped the Patriots to six Super Bowls and it was expected he would set the NFL record for most coaching wins as a member of the Patriots.
The current team looks like they’ll miss the playoffs for the third time in four years and Belichick’s roster-building techniques have played a major role in that.
Now it seems he has more time to correct all of his wrongs.
