The NFL world has been rocked by reports detailing the tragic death of former quarterback Ryan Mallett.
Mallet, who played for the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens, was the victim of a drowning incident in Florida this Tuesday, per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
The 35-year-old was initially identified as a tourist by the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Department, which notes he was among a group of individuals struggling in waters near Golf Shore Drive in Destin when he went under.
Lifesaving methods proved unsuccessful after lifeguards pulled him out.
The Patriots have released a statement on Mallett’s shocking passing.
