With each loss, it feels more and more likely that the greatest head coach in NFL history will hit the open market come 2024 (if not sooner).
Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots fell to 2-8 on Sunday, following a sloppy 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany. With the loss, the Patriots are now just one L away from locking down their third losing season in four years.
Throughout the season, there have been multiple reports suggesting that Belichick and the Patriots will part ways. At this stage, it simply feels inevitable.
Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports proposed four enticing and potential landing spots for the legendary head coach: The Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Commanders.
Belichick is a very private person, so only he truly knows which potential job openings would interest him. He’ll be 72 next year, so one can only assume that he’d prefer to join a club ready to win now, rather than go through another painful rebuild after failing to reconstruct the Patriots in the post-Tom Brady era.
The only guarantee is that if he does leave the Patriots, Belichick will have no shortage of teams interested in hiring him.
