The 2-8 Patriots have the worst record in the AFC and are on pace for a top-three draft pick, but will Bill Belichick survive the season?
Firing Belichick during the Patriots’ bye wouldn’t really help the team, but owner Robert Kraft could be eyeing a change in the offseason.
New England lost to Indianapolis in Germany on Sunday as they failed to score a touchdown and haven’t scored more than 17 points in eight of the last nine games.
Things are only getting worse as Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is now accused of “losing” the team’s locker room. Those dreaded words are always the start of a coach getting ready to lose his job in grand fashion as players have begun to tune their coach out and not play hard for them because they have lost faith.
“There is no defense. They’re 2-8. They’re terrible,” Chris Canty said on Monday morning.
“The biggest takeaway for me is that Bill Belichick has no hope of resurrecting this program. There is no way that he can get this thing back on track. He has lost the ear of the players in the locker room.”
Many reports have stated that the Patriots are expected to part ways with Belichick following the 2023 season.

Kraft told the world in a pregame interview with NFL Network that he’s unhappy.
“It’s really disappointing,” Kraft said. “I had hoped that things would be a lot better, as I know our fanbase did. And I hope today is a chance to reset and make this a much better year. This isn’t what we were expecting to happen this year.”
This record through the first 10 games of the season is the worst start of Belichick’s career and it could very well be his final one.
