New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick passed the legendary George Halas for second on the all-time wins list on Sunday as the team defeated the New York Jets, 22-17.
Mac Jones got the start for the Patriots after he was benched for Bailey Zappe in the team’s loss to the Chicago Bears last Monday. He responded back strong with 194 passing yards, a touchdown pass and an interception in the victory.
On Monday morning, the New England Patriots head coach appeared on “The Greg Hill Show” and was presented with the question of fans booing Mac Jones during the team’s blowout loss to the Bears last Monday. Belichick answered that question in typical fashion.
“I was really focused on the game yesterday. The Jets [fans] booed all of us,” Belichick laughed.
“They booed me about six times. Walking out on the field, walking in after pregame, walking back at the start of the game. Walking in at halftime, walking back. I mean, there were some Patriots fans there and we had a good crowd. But they booed me in the parking lot. They booed me. I got booed all day.”
The hosts once again tried to get him to speak on Jones, but Belichick dodged it and spoke on New York instead.
“That’s what it’s like on the road,” Belichick continued. “I guess that’s a good thing. If they were cheering for you on the road, they’re probably happy to see you. I don’t think you want that. It’s the NFL. Don’t worry about it.”

Sunday’s victory was also Belichick’s 100th win in the regular season against AFC East opponents as coach of the Patriots.
The surging Jets fell to 5-3 while the Patriots evened out their record at 4-4.
