The New England Patriots are rapidly reeling, having suffered their worst loss in the Bill Belichick era on Sunday evening.
New England was no match for Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, falling 38-3 at AT&T Stadium. If Dallas didn’t play it conservative on offense in the final quarter, they could have easily won by more.
Late in the third quarter, Belichick pulled starting quarterback Mac Jones in favor of second-stringer Bailey Zappe. Speaking to reporters after the game, Belichick stated that Jones wasn’t pulled because of his porous play, and that the Alabama product remains the starting quarterback.
“No sense leaving him in the game,” Belichick said, per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald.
New England finds themselves at 1-3 for the third straight year. They’ll try to bounce back when they host the New Orleans Saints next Sunday.
