Bill Belichick is being viewed as a potential hire in another space following his departure from the New England Patriots at the end of the 2023 season.
Belichick would have expected to land a new job shortly after his exit, and just about everyone thought he would. However, all of the teams with coaching vacancies looked elsewhere, including the Atlanta Falcons, who hired Raheem Morris after it was reported that Belichick’s appointment was a done deal.
The 71-year-old should be free for at least another year and could pursue other ventures in the meantime. According to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning is keen on hiring the six-time Super Bowl winner for his Omaha Productions.
“Peyton Manning is pursuing Bill Belichick in an effort to sign the longtime New England Patriots head coach with Omaha Productions, Manning’s entertainment company, officials briefed on the plans told The Athletic,” Marchand writes.
But that’s not all. Should Manning convince the former HC to join him at his production company, he will look to pair him with Nick Saban, who recently stepped down as Alabama’s head coach.
“If Manning were to sign Belichick, the idea of teaming with ESPN to create a Belichick and Nick Saban “Manningcast” is expected to be broached, according to officials briefed on the plans,” Marchand added.
