The Seattle Seahawks will have more opportunities to strengthen their roster ahead of next season, with the NFL Draft approaching.
The team has gotten Bobby Wagner back, while also bringing in Dre’Mont Jones and Julian Love. But there are trades that could be made to see them become even more formidable as they have the No. 5 and No. 20 picks in the upcoming draft.
While Seattle has committed to Geno Smith as their starter, they could still bring in a quarterback at No. 5 if a premium signal-caller remains available after the first four teams go. A wide receiver could be a priority too, but the Seahawks will also be aware that they are weak when it comes to the running back position and haven’t been good at drafting players for it either.
To be fair, they did draft Kenneth Walker III out of Michigan State in 2022. However, they could use another starting-level RB and Josh Jacobs’s name has come up as a player they could add ahead of the 2023 season.
The Las Vegas Raiders star would complement Walker as the latter is not all that great in the passing game and could come in as a pass catcher and protector, having made improvements in both areas over the last two seasons.
Given Pete Carroll’s preference for the running game, having two top RBs would make his life a whole lot easier.

Any team looking to trade would be obliged to give up two first-round picks in exchange for Jacobs as he was placed under the non-exclusive franchise tag. The Seahawks are unlikely to do so but could negotiate a tag-and-trade that would see them offer their third-round pick and a fifth-round pick via the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange.
The Raiders might be inclined to bite as they stand the risk of losing Jacobs for nothing in free agency next year.
