The New England Patriots qualified for the postseason in 2021 after a one-year hiatus following Tom Brady’s departure from Foxborough.
With first-round rookie Mac Jones under center, Bill Belichick’s squad bounced back and finished 10-7 last season, one year after an uncharacteristic 7-9 campaign. With another year under Jones’ belt, and a fairly similar cast returning from 2022, you’d think people would have more faith in Belichick’s club to make some noise in the AFC.
According to Vegas, however, that’s hasn’t been the case… Far from it, in fact.

Based on the money being wagered at Caesars Sportsbook, the only teams receiving fewer bets to win the AFC conference than the Patriots are the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Pats are currently listed at 20-1 odds to win the AFC, but if they continue to get shunned by the public, that number could balloon even higher—at which point, you have to start considering the value there.
