It was a terrible time to be a Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday. The Los Angeles Chargers’ collapse against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday evening will go down as one of the biggest of all time. I
When the Chargers took a 27-0 lead late in the second quarter, a sports bettor thought he could make a quick $11K by placing a $1.4 million bet at DraftKings Sportsbook on them to win the game. The in-game moneyline bet would have netted the person $11,200.
As we all saw, the Chargers took their foot off the pedal and choked the lead away in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. the bettor lost $1.4 million and has to be the sickest man on Earth.
The bettor must have felt that it was a foregone conclusion given the massive deficit and how lost Trevor Lawrence tossed four interceptions during the game. The Jaguars completely flipped the script on the Chargers in the second half as everything went there way.
The bettor had a chance to at least survive into overtime, if not for the Jaguars decision to go for two after their touchdown. That only happened because Joey Bosa slammed his helmet and got a penalty that made that play possible.
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson later said the Bosa penalty was the only reason he elected to go for two.

Everything that could go wrong went wrong for the Chargers and that bettor in the second half.
