As soon as the Baltimore Ravens’ season came to an end during a wild-card round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night, all eyes turned to quarterback Lamar Jackson and his possible impending free agency.
That is and will be the biggest dark cloud surrounding the franchise until a decision is to be made regarding his future. Jackson, who did not play Sunday due to a knee sprain, is headed for unrestricted free agency when the new league year begins on March 16 unless the Ravens use the franchise tag on him or both parties can agree to a new long-term contract.
In the meantime, sports books are releasing odds on where Jackson might be playing in 2023. Atop the list are the Jets, Falcons, and Raiders. All three teams could desperately use the 2018 former NFL MVP.
The Jets benched Zach Wilson multiple times this past season as it appears his time with the team has come to an end. The Jets might have won 10-12 games in 2022 with a quarterback of Jackson’s caliber. The team has good players at important positions and appear to be a starting QB away from making some real noise.
The Falcons benched starting QB Marcus Mariota late in the year to start Desmond Ridder and neither seems like the man going forward for the franchise.
The Raiders also benched Derek Carr and made it clear that they will try and trade him this offseason. Las Vegas has been speculated as a potential landing spot for Tom Brady if he leaves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and decides to play in 2023.

Jackson’s future in Baltimore is likely to be one of the most prominent storylines of the offseason until a resolution is found.
Jackson has reached the playoffs with the Ravens in three out of his four seasons as a full-time starter and won the 2019 NFL MVP award. There will be a lot of competition to secure him if he becomes available.
