There’s an interesting betting favorite for running back Saquon Barkley, who’s eligible for free agency this offseason, should he leave the New York Giants.
Barkley’s rookie contact expires after the 2022 NFL regular season. The 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year rushed for a career-high 1,312 yards, helping the Giants to a surprise postseason berth following five straight losing seasons.
According to PointsBet, the Baltimore Ravens are the new betting favorites to land Barkley (if he doesn’t return to the Giants) this offseason at +375. The Buffalo Bills have the second-best odds at +400, followed by the Denver Broncos (+550), New York Jets (+650) and New England Patriots (750).
Barkley would certainly be an intriguing fit in the Baltimore offense, which is led by two-time 1,000-yard rusher and star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Like Barkley, Jackson could also enter free agency after this season, though the Ravens will likely place the franchise tag on the 2019 league MVP.
The former Penn State star has rushed for over 1,000 yards in three of his five NFL seasons. He missed all but two games in 2020 and four games in 2021. But Barkley returned to star-like form this season, and some team is going to pay him handsomely.
