Joe Burrow is one of the few NFL athletes who have come forward with an opinion that may not be shared by a section of the NFL fanbase.
Gun control has become a major topic in this country after multiple mass shootings had taken place over the past few weeks in Buffalo, NY, Uvalde, TX, and many other places around the country.
During his minicamp media availability on Tuesday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback had quite a bit to say about gun reform.
Burrow explained that his belief is that if lawmakers “don’t outlaw everything,” they should “at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody’s using.”
“If you’re not going to outlaw everything, you’ve gotta at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody’s using,” Burrow said. “You shouldn’t be able to just walk in and buy one. You got to be able to go through a rigorous process to be able to buy something like that, I think.
“Hopefully, the people who get paid to make those decisions figure that out. My job is to play football, but hopefully, the politicians can figure that one out.”

Burrow’s comments come as a bipartisan group of senators announced Sunday that they had an agreement in principle on gun control legislation.
All athletes like Burrow can do right now is voice their concerns about this topic.
The 25-year-old is in his third season in the NFL and is coming off of a successful 2021 campaign in which he helped lead the Bengals to Super Bowl LVI, where they lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 23-20. In the regular season, Burrow completed a league-high 70.4% of his passes for 4,611 yards with 34 touchdowns versus 14 interceptions.
