The Cincinnati Bengals may have gotten screwed out of a possible win against the New York Jets today.
Bengals defensive player Mike Hilton went low to stop Ty Johnson on a 3rd and long play late in the fourth quarter. However, the Jets running back lowered his heads as well to initiate contact, resulting in a helmet-to-helmet hit that the refs threw a flag on the Bengals for. It was a terrible call.

That horrible call would give the Jets a fresh set of downs, rather than forcing them to kick the ball back to Cincy. After converting on one more third down just a few plays later, the Jets were able to ice the controversial 34-31 victory.
It was a crushing loss for the Bengals, who were coming off a big week 7 win over the Baltimore Ravens and looking to take control of top spot in the AFC North. Unfortunately for them, with the loss, they have instead been leapfrogged by the Ravens, who are enjoying a bye this week.
