The Cincinnati Bengals have provided a major injury update on star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase ahead of Saturday’s pivotal clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced that Chase will miss Saturday’s contest with a shoulder injury he suffered in last week’s overtime win against the Minnesota Vikings.
Through the Bengals’ first 14 games, the 2021 first-round pick has racked up 93 receptions for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns. Chase has surpassed the 80-catch and 1,000-yard marks through each of his first three NFL seasons.
Cincinnati enters Week 16 on a three-game winning streak, while the Steelers have dropped their last three contests. Backup QB Jake Browning has done a tremendous job filling in for the injured Joe Burrow (out for the year with a torn ligament in his wrist), throwing five touchdowns during the winning streak.
The Bengals are the No. 6 seed in the AFC entering this week’s slate of games, tied with the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans for the AFC’s last to wild card spots.
