The Cincinnati Bengals defense came up extremely clutch in the game’s final seconds to set up the winning field goal, but the entire sequence almost did not ahppen because of their own coach.
Just before the turnover play, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor could be spotted running feverishly towards an official to call a timeout. He was not granted that timeout and an interception would happen as a result.
After the interception, rookie kicker Evan McPherson hit a 52-yarder to send Cincinnati to the conference title game. The kicker was 4-4 on his kicks.
The Titans defense poured in nine sacks on the day, but they could not srop their own QB in Ryan Tannehill from throwing three interceptions.
The Bengals, whose last playoff win before this season came in January of 1991, won their second playoff game in eight days and are moving on to the AFC championship game to play either the Bills or Chiefs.
