If Tee Higgins needed a vote of confidence from his team amid trade rumors, he just got it in a huge way.
The Cincinnati Bengals have every reason to move the stud wide receiver this offseason, but it seems like that is not an option based on the Bengals’ general manager’s comments.
Cincinnati GM Duke Tobin issued a fiery statement that the team would trade the receiver.
“I’m in the business of making the Cincinnati Bengals better. And so, trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind. That’s their problem. They want a receiver, go find your own,” Tobin said to reporters at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
“In my opinion, Tee Higgins is a good piece for the Cincinnati Bengals. So, the trade stuff is a little ridiculous right now,” he continued.
Higgins, who has one year left on his current contract, has been a subject of trade speculation since the start of the offseason. The 6-foot-4 athletic WR caught 74 balls for 1,029 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
In his career, he’s recorded 3,028 receiving yards on 215 receptions and has scored 19 career touchdowns.

Higgins is a legitimate star and still has room to grow. If he gets dealt this offseason, it’ll take a major trade package. However, it looks like the GM does not want to part ways with Higgins.
