The Cincinnati Bengals are no longer a joke with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase leading the reigning AFC North champions into a new era for the franchise. And the sense of confidence it quite evident in their fans.
Just take a look at Bengals superfan Phil Armein.
Bengals fans probably never would have even thought about trolling the NFL Commissioner in front of thousands of people and a national audience during their darker days, when they went 31 straight years without winning a single playoff game.
But now that they’re winning in January, their fans are coming out of the woodwork to let their voices be heard. And on Saturday, one of those fans took the stage to troll Roger Goodell in epic fashion.
You may remember the whole “coin flip” debacle, where the NFL was going to make the Bengals and Ravens flip a coin to determine home-field advantage for their Wild Card matchup — had the Ravens won the week 18 season finale between the two division rivals.
The Bengals, of course, would go on to win that game and secure home-field advantage without the need for the coin toss. But Bengals fans still haven’t forgotten.
And on Saturday, right before announcing that Cincy was using the 131st pick of the draft on Purdue wide receiver Charlie Jones, Bengals fan of the year Phil Armein mocked Goodell and the NFL with a mock coin flip on the stage.

With the draft being held in Kansas City, it’s no surprise that Armein’s actions were mercilessly booed by Chiefs fans. But the NFL Network crew sure seemed to get a kick out of it. And so did we.
