Ben Roethlisberger was trending in a huge way on Saturday when reports stated he told former teammates and some within the organization that he expects this to be his final season playing quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Roethlisberger has not made any such public proclamations, but reporters made sure to ask him after Sunday’s game.
“Well, I haven’t told everybody that,” Roethlisberger said.
Trailing 10-3 through three quarters, Roethlisberger led three game-winning drives that was capped off by his 5-yard touchdown pass to Diontae Johnson with 1:48 left. The Ravens failed to convert a potential game-winning two-point conversion with 12 seconds left in the game, as Jackson’s pass to Mark Andrews went off his fingertips.
With the win, the Steelers moved to 6-5-1 and 1.5 games back of the Ravens for first place in the AFC North.
The 39-year-old Roethlisberger completed 21 of 31 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s 20-19 win over the Ravens.
