Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci is reaping the rewards after seizing a business opportunity when presented.
Drafted in the seventh round in 2020, DiNucci spent two years with the Cowboys and is now with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the newly-revamped XFL. He made $1.76 as a Cowboys player over the length of his NFL spell and is earning somewhere in the region of $100K with the Sea Dragons.
The signal-caller is making most of his money off the field now, having started a business while in Dallas that has blossomed into a lucrative payoff.
After getting drafted by the Cowboys, DiNucci received a message from streetwear entrepreneur Sang Truong that came with some free hats. The hats, bearing the words DALLAS (but upside down so SALLAD), caught the eyes of DiNucci’s teammates.
Truong had been following the QB on social media and it turns out he lived just across the street from the player’s hotel when he moved to Dallas. They met in person shortly after and became fast friends – then months later, DiNucci joined Truong as a co-owner of a company called True Brvnd.

The business really took off after DiNucci got his teammates to wear the gear, with the likes of Trevon Diggs, Tony Pollard, and Michael Gallup among notable names to put them on. It also made several appearances on HBO’s Hard Knocks as DiNucci wore one for every episode.
Now, True Brand is shipping to multiple locations all over the world, including Canada, the UK, Australia, and Germany. It’s available for local purchase from Daily TX.
