Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs tore his ACL during Thursday’s practice and will be out for the rest of this season
He sustained the injury during 1-on-1 drills, according to multiple reports.
That in itself is a huge problem for a team that has aspirations of going deep into the playoffs. A former quarterback of the team also has an issue with those drills and he called the team out over it.
Former Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci took to X to have this to say:
Diggs and the Cowboys reportedly agreed to a five-year, $97 million contract extension in July so at least he was able to get his full value in a contract before he suffered this injury. The deal, which could be worth up to $104 million, was structured to keep him in Dallas through the 2028 season.
Losing Diggs for the entire season is a huge hit to one of the best defenses in the NFL.

DiNucci, a former CAA Offensive Player of the Year, was on the Cowboys from 2020-2022. He completed 53.5 percent of his pass attempts for 219 yards during that span.
These days, DiNucci is on the Broncos’ practice squad.
