Dak Prescott was back on the field this past Sunday, but he did not look as sharp as we remember him from last season. Even still, he did just enough to will his team to victory.
On social media, he received a ton of criticism for his play, and even had some people calling for Cooper Rush to be put back in.
Ben DiNucci hates everything about that. The former Cowboys quarterback took to Twitter and lashed out at Prescott’s many critics expecting him to play out of his mind soon after his thumb injury.
“It amazes me the disrespect Dak gets on here. Completes 80% of his passes with no turnovers and people act like he’s supposed to go 47/51 for 537 yards and 6 Tds his first game back after breaking his thumb,” DiNucci tweeted.
Prescott completed 19-of-25 pass attempts for 207 passing yards and one touchdown in Sunday’s 24-6 win over the Lions. In his return back, the team racked up more rushing attempts (32) than passes (25).
Dak is coming off a 2021 campaign in which he completed 68.8 percent of his throws for 4,449 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
