The Chicago Bears are being dealt a huge blow with a significant injury at wide receiver.
N’Keal Harry’s transition to Chicago hasn’t been a very smooth one. The Chicago wide receiver suffered an injury that is believed to be severe.
“Bears wide receiver N’Keal Harry suffered an ankle injury that appears severe but is awaiting further evaluation and hoping for the best, per source. Got hurt Saturday. Traded from New England, Harry was working on fresh start in Chicago,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports.
Harry also was absent from practice Sunday, six days before the Bears host the Kansas City Chiefs for their preseason opener.
After three underwhelming seasons with the New England Patriots, Harry was hoping to turn his career around. This is a tough break for a player who entered the 2022 campaign with a lot to prove.
Harry stands to make a base salary of $1,872,047 for the 2022 season and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2023. In 2021, Harry appeared in 12 games for the Patriots and caught 12 passes for 184 yards and no touchdowns.
