Whether he meant to or not, Chicago Bears’ head coach Matt Eberflus added yet another humiliating chapter to the club’s rapidly-growing embarrassment.
Claypool was inactive for the Bears’ Week 4 home game against the Denver Broncos. After the contest, Eberflus told reporters that Claypool himself chose to stay home.
But in an update, a Bears’ spokesperson said that Claypool was TOLD by the Bears to stay home.
The Bears blew a 21-point lead to the Broncos at Soldier Field and fell 31-28, falling to 0-4 on the season. They are one of the league’s two winless remaining teams, along with the Chicago Bears.
