A massive trade proposal has the Chicago Bears adding another game-changing weapon to their offense in a move that would cement them as bonafide Super Bowl contenders.
One year after finishing as football’s worst team (3-14), the Bears made considerable progress here in 2023. They finished 7-10, thanks largely to an improved defense, Justin Fields’ career year and the arrival of superstar wideout D.J. Moore.
Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton proposed five blockbuster trade ideas involving Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs. One such idea from Moton has the Bears trading their own 2024 first-round pick (they own the No. 1 pick via the Carolina Panthers) for the Bills superstar:
“If Chicago takes a quarterback with the first pick, it can give that signal-caller one of the league’s best wide receiver duos with Stefon Diggs and D.J. Moore on the perimeter.
Though Diggs saw a drop-off in his receiving numbers in the second half of the 2023 season, he still eclipsed 1,100 yards for a fifth consecutive year. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Moore posted career highs in catches (94), receiving yards (1,364) and touchdown receptions (eight).
With Diggs in the fold, Moore may see a dip in his production, though whoever starts at quarterback should feel good about his chance to succeed with that receiver tandem.”
The Bears acquired Moore as part of the package from Carolina last year in exchange for the first overall pick that was used on Bryce Young. Moore had a phenomenal first year in Windy City, hauling in 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.
Diggs was also the subject of trade rumors last year following the Bills’ disappointing AFC Divisional Round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Diggs was caught on cameras yelling at Josh Allen during that game, and he quickly left the stadium following the loss.

Having lost in the Divisional Round for the third straight year, the Bills are expected to shake up their roster this offseason. If Diggs hits the trade block, then of course the Bears should explore the idea of pairing him with Moore.
