If you were one of the many who were forced to watch last night’s Thursday Night Football battle between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders on Amazon Prime, we feel for you. And, apparently, so does one particular sportsbook.
In fact, PointsBet Sportsbook felt so bad for those tuned in that they actually decided to save many from the pain of continuing to watch by paying out all under bets at halftime… WITH 30 MINUTES STILL TO PLAY!!!
Of course, the game would end up going under the total regardless, as the Commanders won by a score of 12-7.
Still, it’s pretty crazy to think that a sportsbook would take that type of chance and not even allow the second half to play out. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t seen crazier things happen than a 35-point second half.
Last night’s debacle marked the second time in as any weeks where we were treated to an absolute snoozefest on Thursday night. Last week, it was the Broncos and Colts boring viewers to death with their touchdown-less battle, which Indy won in overtime by a score of 12-9.
At this point, you can’t help but wonder whether the NFL should begin to reconsider these Thursday night contests. You’ve got to think that Amazon Prime is regretting signing that TNF broadcasting deal right about now.
