Olin Kreutz said the organization offered him just $15 an hour to return as an assistant offensive line coach in 2018.
The Chicago Bears legend earned six Pro Bowl selections and was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s during a 13-year stay with the Bears from 1998 through 2010. Despite his time put in with the team, he was disrespected by being offered minimum wage to help the squad.
“Harry wanted me to come in and help with the offensive line development, help coach the offensive line,” Kreutz said on The Score. “They offered me $15 an hour to come in there as an independent contractor.”
Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey spoke to reporters on Monday and responded back to his comments.

Olin Kreutz got wind of those comments and went back at him on Twitter.
“If that man would’ve said that to my face, we would’ve had a problem,” he said.
Celebrity Net Worth estimates the University of Washington product’s net worth at $15 million, so he is clearly not hurting for money. However, being offered such a low wage is quite disrespectful.
The four-time Brian Piccolo Award winner has since joined NBC Sports Chicago as a Bears analyst.
As far as the franchise goes, the team has just fired head coach Matt Nagy after a terrible season.
Chicago has missed the playoffs in nine of the 11 years since Kreutz departed.
