ESPN’s Bart Scott thinks a top AFC club should trade for New York Giants’ superstar running back Saquon Barkley.
The Giants enter Week 6 with an ugly 1-4 record, and they look poised to be sellers ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline. Their top trade chip is unquestionably the 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year, who’s in the final year of his contract.
On the latest edition of ESPN’s “Get Up”, the former star NFL linebacker implored the Baltimore Ravens to call the Giants and offer a second-round pick for Barkley. Scott stated that adding Barkley to the offense would strike “fear in Kansas City and Cinci-nasty.”
The Ravens lost standout running back J.K. Dobbins for the year with a torn Achilles that he suffered in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Quarterback Lamar Jackson leads the team in rushing with 265 yards and four touchdowns.
Running back Gus Edwards is second on the team in rushing with 241 rushing yards and a touchdown , followed by Justice Hill and his 115 rushing yards.
When healthy, the 26-year-old Barkley is one of football’s most explosive playmakers. Unfortunately, the Penn State product has only played a full season once, and that was in his rookie 2018 campaign.
