This is not okay.
Last Sunday, Joe Burrow sliced and diced the Baltimore Ravens for over 500 passing yards as they seem to run up the score in the blowout victory. Burrow didn’t apologize for the Bengals’ pass-heavy approach late in the game, saying that the Ravens didn’t hold back during one of their contests the season prior.
In an appearance on the ESPN show Get Up, former Ravens linebacker and current ESPN NFL analyst Bart Scott seemed to suggest a bounty gets put on Burrow over what he said.
“Listen, the order’s been sent. The order’s been sent. We call it ‘the red dot’ in Baltimore and it’s on him for the rest of his career. He’s going to regret he ever did that. [Bengals head coach] Zac Taylor you’re going to regret that when your ass is fired in four years,” Scott said.
Social media hated everything about what he said.

Bart Scott has to know what he is saying is extremely problematic in a sport like the National Football League. Even he was kidding, if something were to actually happen to Burrow in their two meetings next season, these comments will be brought back up.
Burrow set a franchise record for the most passing yards in a single game in Cincinnati’s 41-21 win over the Baltimore Ravens at Paul Brown Stadium. He was 37-of-46 passing for 525 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
You want to shut him up, go out there and play defense.
