There’s still a lot to decide where the Super Bowl is concerned – for the most part, who will play. But that isn’t stopping Dave Portnoy from throwing $1 million into the fire.
With four teams left in the NFL playoffs, the Barstool Sports owner has already bet on who will win it all, which isn’t all that odd. It’s just that most people won’t risk a million dollars on a team when they haven’t even made it to the big game yet, especially when they’re going up against the Kansas City Chiefs in their next outing.
Betting agent Ben Fawkes disclosed Portnoy’s wager. While incredibly risky, the bet would pay out huge returns, as Stool Presidente got some great odds.
“One bettor (Dave Portnoy) at DraftKings Sportsbook wagered $1 million on the Buffalo Bills to win Super Bowl LIX at +550 odds last week,” Fawkes revealed via X. “Bills currently +255 at DK.”
Dave Portnoy Confirms His Risky Wager
Portnoy had actually already confirmed the above over the weekend, suggesting he had $1 million to play with after selling his Donald Trump crypto coin.
“I made a quick million bucks from 5 p.m. to like 5 a.m.,” he said in a video. “I’m up a million, cash out. Now I’m plus-a-milly. What do you do when you’re plus-a-milly? I’ll tell you what you do. Let’s go Buffalo. They are [bleeping] due. Tell me something more American than turning 500 grand into $1.5 million — $1 million profit. Taking that one-milly profit and putting it on the Buffalo Bills to win their first Super Bowl ever. Well that’s what I did.”

Should his Bills bet hit, the Barstool Sports owner would welcome over $5 million in profit, but he would do well to note that Jos Allen is 0-3 against the Chiefs in the playoffs.
Still, the Bills did beat KC at home this season, so there is hope they could repeat the feat. Of course, that’s not all it would take; they would have to play another game against either the Philadelphia Eagles or Washington Commanders, which could go either way.
The Bills and Chiefs will square off at Arrowhead this coming Sunday. The game will air at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS, with Portnoy watching on nervously.
