Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is getting praise from all over after a pretty heroic act.
According to a thread from an X user going by the name of Andrew Springs, a pregnant woman experienced a medical emergency while on a flight to Phoenix, with things appearing to be dire.
A doctor and a nurse had difficulty finding a pulse before Andrews, who happened to be on the flight, suggested her blood sugar might be low and offered his diabetic testing kit. Andrew claims that the TE gave instructions on using the kit (he is a diabetic), and the woman’s heart rate stabilized therafter.
He added that Andrews left with “no fanfare” after the plane landed, disappearing quietly.
“Paramedics met the flight as soon as we landed. Andrews deplaned quietly. No fanfare. As he has done his whole career, he stepped up in a huge moment when people needed him most. Watching complete strangers spring into action to help save someone’s life is truly amazing,” Andrew wrote.
Fans were full of praise for the receiver, with many pointing out that he would have never been on the aircraft had the Ravens beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. You can see some of the reactions below:
