Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provided some brutal injury news on star tight end Mark Andrews following the club’s pivotal Week 11 home win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.
Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Harbaugh announced that Andrews suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Thursday’s 34-20 win. The 28-year-old left the game in the first quarter and did not return.
It’s terrible news for an 8-3 Ravens team that is in contention for the top seed in the AFC. Andrews was having another Pro Bowl-caliber year for the Ravens, catching 43 passes for 521 yards and six touchdowns coming into Thursday’s contest.
With Andrews out for the season, second-year tight end Isaiah Likely can expect a much larger role in the offense.
