The Arizona Cardinals made the surprising move to trade their first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft to the Baltimore Ravens as part of a deal that got them wide receiver Marquise Brown.
It turned out to be an even better trade considering that DeAndre Hopkins will be suspended for the first six games of the season.
Brown already has a 1,000-yard season under his belt but the Cardinals believe he can be even better. Over the weekend, the WR seemed really excited about his new role as his new comments really rubbed his former fan base the wrong way.
“In college I had guys around me, CeeDee Lamb,” Brown said when asked about his targets, via Darren Urban of the team’s official website. “I’ve played with Mark Andrews. It’s not about the targets, it’s about what type of targets.”
“I’ve been in an offense where I’ve been getting all the attention… I’m excited to get some one-on-one matchups and spread the field out.”
Brown played in a heavy-run offense with the Ravens. The offense went through the backs and tight end.

His former fan base had a lot to say in response to his comments:
Brown topped 1,000 yards receiving in 2021, but his longest reception of the season was for 49 yards. He may just want to stretch the field more, which the Cardinals should be able to accommodate.
Not having Hopkins for six games will put much of the attention on him.
