After much speculation, the Browns have officially shipped former No. 1 overall pick, Baker Mayfield, to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a conditional 2024 fifth-round pick.
In less than five years, Mayfield has gone from Heisman Trophy winner to first overall pick to Offensive Rookie of the Year runner-up to Cleveland’s savior after playoff win to being replaced by Deshaun Watson and fighting for a starting spot with Sam Darnold.
Whatever the case might be, he is surely happy to be gone and so is his wife.
Following the trade, Mayfield’s wife, Emily, took to social media to react to the trade news.

Cleveland had to eat $10.5 million of the former Oklahoma star’s contract to trade him, but will receive a fifth-round pick.
Mayfield and Darnold were the first two quarterbacks selected in the 2018 NFL draft and now they are fighting each other again on the same team.
The NFL is funny like that.
Last season, Darnold completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 2,527 yards with nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The Panthers will have to pay Darnold $18.858 million this upcoming season.
Mayfield spent the past four seasons with the Browns after the team selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The 27-year-old tallied 14,125 yards, 92 touchdowns, and 56 interceptions in 60 games.
