Baker Mayfield is going right back to the very place where he belongs.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the 28-year-old Mayfield has signed a lucrative three-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $100 million. Half of the money is guaranteed, Rapoport added.
Mayfield’s extension comes days after the Bucs locked up superstar wideout Mike Evans on a two-year deal worth $52 million. With that, the reigning NFC South champs are ready to run it back after a surprising nine-win season that culminated in a trip to the Divisional Round.
The No. 1 selection of the 2018 NFL Draft is coming off a career year in which he completed 64.3 percent of pass attempts for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.
