Baker Mayfield likely knew the Baltimore Ravens were not built to play from behind.
So when the Cleveland Browns offense had a chance to blow the game wide open and make Ravens QB Lamar Jackson throw the ball, he made sure his teammates knew what he was thinking.
“Real important drive, right here,” Baker can be heard saying on the latest “Building the Browns” episode. “We score and we (expletive) make him (Lamar) throw … It’s our (expletive) game.”
Since he took over for Joe Flacco last season, Jackson has been heavily criticized for his passing ability and he’s been the recipient of jokes that refer to him as a “running back” rather than a QB.
He shut a lot of people up when he accounted for 596 passing yards and 7 touchdowns when the team faced off against the Dolphins and Cardinals. However, neither of those teams have a win yet in 2019 and post two of the worst defenses in the NFL.
Jackson had a season-worst rating of 70.3 passer rating against the Chiefs and did not toss a touchdown during that game. He finished with 247 yards, three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions, but that was mostly inflated when the Ravens were forced to throw playing from behind last Sunday against the Browns.
