Wow! What an ending!
The Thursday Night Football contest between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams was a snoozefest for three-and-a-half quarterback, but things sure did get interesting down the stretch.
Trailing 16-3 late in the fourth quarter, newly acquired quarterback Baker Mayfield led the Rams on not one, but two touchdown drives, capping the last one off with a 23-yard pass to Van Jefferson in the end zone to take a 17-16 lead.
Mayfield had exactly two days to get ready for this game, as the Rams picked him up off waivers on Tuesday. It was unfathomable that he could even start this game despite having less than 48 hours to study the team’s playbook…
The fact that he was actually able to lead his team to a victory? With two touchdown drives in the final quarter to win it?
