It’s that time of the year when fan are placing their bets on games in the NFL as the season gets ready to begin. One of the many things fans can bet on is which quarterbacks will end up being benched and lose their job in the 2023 season.
The odds-on favorite to lose their starting position is Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield.
After renewing his potential with the Los Angeles Rams in five games last season, Mayfield signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay this offseason and beat out Kyle Trask for the Buccaneers’ starting quarterback job. However, he is on his third team.
Mayfield also isn’t promised the job a day longer than the Sept. 10 season opener at Minnesota if he plays terribly.
Rounding out the top-5 is Commanders quarterback Sam Howell, Ryan Tannehill of the Tennessee Titans, Texans rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, and Patriots QB Mac Jones.
For those who have Russell Wilson as pegged to lose his job, he comes in at the 21st spot.

Last but not least and certainly not expected to lose his job his Patrick Mahomes is at the very bottom of the list. Barring the Chiefs going 0-10, he will not get sacked, and at odds of 1000/1 the bookmakers agree with the experts.
The bottom five also include Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and Aaron Rodgers. The lone exception was the Arizona Cardinals, whose quarterback situation is up in the air after the release of veteran Colt McCoy.
A good pick for fans may be Jimmy Garoppolo of the LA Raiders as the team went 6-11 last year with Derek Carr at the helm.
