Does Baker Mayfield know something that we don’t? Everyone who follows the Cleveland Browns quarterback on Twitter is asking that very question after keeping tabs on his latest post.
Tonight, Baker tweeted out a lengthy thank you message to Cleveland. In it, he used phrases like “I have no clue what happens next,” “I have no clue what happens next,” and “wherever I take my next snap.” After reading it, you can’t help but wonder whether or not this is a clear sign that Deshaun Watson is on his way to Cleveland.
The Browns are said to be among the final four for Deshaun Watson, along with the Saints, Panthers and Falcons. It has also been reported that the Texans have approved offers from the Browns, Saints and Panthers.
Of course, there are other possibilities too. One of them would involve Jimmy Garoppolo coming to Cleveland. The other would be Baker possibly just trying to get out ahead of all this drama. Perhaps one final plea to the city that brought him into the NFL will cause the Browns’ front office to pull their offer and stick with him for one more season.
