Plane flyovers for games are common in every sport, but the Kansas City Chiefs opened up their season in style with a once-in-a-lifetime flyover.
In the season-opening celebration, the Chiefs flew a B-2 over Arrowhead Stadium during the singing of the National Anthem. The plane, which is one of the most technically advanced planes ever made, costs over $2 billion to make and only 21 of them have ever been made. The moment, which is absolutely jaw-dropping, is a spectacle that nobody will ever forget.
The B-2 has capabilities and stealth abilities far beyond what we usually see with flyovers, and has weapon storage and speed that outclass even the most modern technology. Even during the flyover, the plane couldn’t be heard, which is amazing considering the plane stretched over half a football field with its wingspan.
Though the moment was amazing for Chiefs fans, the game was one to forget as the Lions crashed the Chief’s championship celebration 21-20, putting a bitter end to the festivities.
The Chiefs lost a close one, but the B-2 flyover was a wonderful surprise for fans.
