Avery Williamson is a happy man.
On Sunday afternoon, he was part of a team that had just dropped to 0-8 on the year after getting blown out by the Kansas City Chiefs.
By Sunday evening, and confirmed Monday morning, he would be undefeated after the Jets traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jets acquired Pittsburgh’s 2022 fifth-round pick in exchange for Williamson and the Jets’ 2022 seventh-round pick.
He would take to social media soon after and post himself in full uniform outside trying to hitchhike out of town:
The 28-year-old Williamson led the Jets in tackles in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs with nine. He had an interception and three passes defensed in six games this season.
