Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys players were involved in a heated skirmish before kickoff on Monday night and Austin Ekeler felt the brunt of it when he got punched so hard that his helmet went flying.
Fresh off their Week 5 bye, the Chargers removed running back Austin Ekeler from the injury report and he got a brutal welcome back.
He did not have his best game against the visiting Cowboys. Through 14 rush attempts, Ekeler had just 27 yards rushing but did have four catches for 35 yards.
Ekeler’s bad performance is even more notable when you find out he had reason to cheer on the opposing team. On his fantasy football team, the Chargers running back started the Cowboys’ defense against his own team.
Not only that, but he was playing against himself.
Fans were in shock and thought he may have played bad on purpose.

Dak Prescott knew going into Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers that anything less than victory would be detrimental to the Cowboys’ hopes of challenging for the NFC crown after having one of the worst games of his eight-year career last week and with a bye week approaching.
In response, Prescott threw for 272 yards and a touchdown, leading Dallas to a comeback and a 20-17 victory.
The Chargers are back under .500 at 2-3 with a road trip to Kansas City next Sunday on a short week.
