Last week, Tom Brady was fined more than $11,000 for violating NFL rules by kicking his opponent a during Week 5 win over Falcons.
The fine was given to Brady for how the quarterback reacted after he was hit by Grady Jarrett in the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers’ win. Jarrett’s sack made headlines last week because he got called for a controversial roughing-the-passer penalty after taking Brady down on a third-down play.
The flag ended any chance of the Falcons being able to get the ball back and try for a last-second win.
Peter King justifiably criticized Brady in his latest Football Morning in America column for NBC Sports.
“I think that was unbecoming of Tom Brady, and that’s putting it mildly, to try to kick Jarrett after the perfectly legal sack,” King wrote. “Brady deserved the NFL fine.”
Brady’s Buccaneers dropped to 3-3 on the season with Sunday’s road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
