Asante Samuel really does not like Bill Belichick.
Former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel has been outspoken about his feelings for coach Bill Belichick. Any chance he gets, he will try and tear him down and his legacy. You can simply google both of their names and see that Samuel has ripped Belichick almost every single month in 2023.
We are now in July and he is doing it again.
The retired cornerback remains as disgruntled as humanly possible at his former head coach, to the point where he’s now stating that Belichick is not the greatest coach of all time. Samuel told Bryant McFadden that Belichick is not the greatest head coach of all time and instead insisted that the Patriots’ success was all thanks to Tom Brady.
“Absolutely not,” said Samuel when asked if Belichick was the greatest head coach ever. “Are you crazy? Look at his record without Tom [Brady]. You’ve got to win without Tom. One thing I learned about being great is you got to be great in different situations. It was all Tom. I was there. I saw it. It was Tom. Everybody knows it. Tom knows it but he ain’t gonna admit it because he wants to be politically correct. That’s why I’m here and I’m going to tell the truth.”
Earlier this year when it appeared Lamar Jackson wouldn’t be playing for the Ravens after his trade request and might head to New England, Samuel took to Twitter and wrote, “Lamar Jackson, my brother trust me you don’t want to play for Belichick.”

Samuel’s disdain for Belichick may surround the end of his tenure with the organization when the team placed the franchise tag on Samuel before the 2007 season and the cornerback held out for most of the preseason.
New England did not retain him that following offseason and Samuel headed to the Eagles. That is a very long time to hold a grudge.
To his point, Belichick is 25-25 in the regular season and has not won a playoff game since Tom Brady left the organization.
