The Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium seemed to be experiencing what could have been a serious issue ahead of the playoff clash against the Miami Dolphins.
The teams are set to play for a spot in the AFC Divisional Round later tonight amid terrible weather conditions. An arctic draft is making it so that the game will be played in minus-zero weather while a wind chill of negative 30 is set to make it a very uncomfortable outing.
The National Weather Service has advised that fans should cover everything but their eyes.
On another note, NFL Network’s James Palmer took to social media earlier in the day to post a photo of the tarpaulin over the field at Arrowhead, noting it should have been removed by 2:00 PM but was still there over an hour and a half later.
“Curious if there’s an issue with the tarp,” he wrote. “It was scheduled to come off at 2pm. It’s 3:36 and they’ve been stuck like this for over the last 30 minutes.”
Neither the team nor the NFL has announced that there is an issue and the game is set to go on as planned, though the Steelers-Bills fixture originally scheduled for Sunday has been moved to Monday.
