Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones has been suspended for the first five games of 2024 season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Zay Jones is being suspended five games because of his arrest in Mach on a domestic battery charge. Though the charge against Jones was dropped, the league decided to suspend Jones after conducting their own investigation, Pelissero added.
Jones will miss games against the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers. He can return for their Week 6 road game against the Green Bay Packers.
In May, the Cardinals signed Jones to a one-year contract to bolster their WR depth. The addition came weeks after Arizona used the No. 4 selection of the 2024 draft on prized Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
Zay Jones signed with Arizona after the Jacksonville Jaguars released him. He had one year remaining on the three-year, $24 million deal signed in the 2022 offseason.

Cardinals Pass-Catchers Must Step Up With Zay Jones Sidelined
Fortunately for Kyler Murray, he still has a nice set of weapons in the aforementioned Harrison Jr., rising star tight end Trey McBride and workhorse running back James Conner. But with the speedy Jones sidelined for five games, Arizona’s other pass-catchers must step up.
Murray and the Cardinals will kick off their 2024 season with a road game against Josh Allen’s Bills on Sept. 8.
